The assassination of a prominent political leader and two more murders kicks off this compelling page turner, and keeps the reader on the edge of their seat to its surprising end. Into the mix are extortion and blackmail schemes tied into a pornography filmmaking operation. Who is responsible, and how high up does it go? Finding the answers falls to Latina detective Margarita O’Brien, who is hastily assigned to a minor part of the murder investigation with her new partner, Andy Pick. Both are compelled by their own agendas, and both form the basis for the novel's rich character development. Romance, sex, action, betrayal, espionage, and suspense drive the story
along, while its thoughtful writing, evocative dialog, and three-dimensional
characters form its foundation. |
