The assassination of a prominent political leader and two more murders kicks off this compelling page turner, and keeps the reader on the edge of their seat to its surprising end. Into the mix are extortion and blackmail schemes tied into a pornography filmmaking operation.

Who is responsible, and how high up does it go?

Finding the answers falls to Latina detective Margarita O’Brien, who is hastily assigned to a minor part of the murder investigation with her new partner, Andy Pick. Both are compelled by their own agendas, and both form the basis for the novel's rich character development.

Romance, sex, action, betrayal, espionage, and suspense drive the story along, while its thoughtful writing, evocative dialog, and three-dimensional characters form its foundation.

About the Author

ROGER DEBEERS has an MA in English Education and a MFA in creative writing. His varied background as an English Instructor, commercial pilot, flight instructor, governmental functionary, lay about, househusband, and years in two branches of the military lends to the richness of Mr. DeBeers’ writing.

Drawing upon all these experiences gives Murder Under White the proper edge and grit. He is working currently on a new thriller set in 1944 during the first International Monetary Fund meeting at Bretton Woods, NH, along with a memoir based on his survival on the streets, which also includes tales of old San Francisco as seen through his mentor, an elderly Chinese grocer, who served as his confidant, surrogate father, and fence.
